Microsoft-backed OpenAI has required remote collaboration video platform Multi (past known as Remotion), declared the latter’s CEO and co-founder Alexander Embiricos in a post, as he shared that Multi’s journey would be coming to an end.
OpenAI has yet to issue its own post or a usual statement confirming the deal.
Multi provides a range of solutions for customers searching out video-based, remote collaboration tools. According to its site, Multi also provides AI declares that are “best and concise enough to post in Slack.”
Multi’s CEO expressed that the organization was looking for deeper integrations with AI technology.
“Recently, we’ve been asking ourselves how we should work with AI. Not on or utilizing computers, but truly with computers. With AI. We think it’s one of the most essential product questions of our time. And so, we’re beyond excited to share that Multi is searching OpenAI!” shared Embiricos, adding, “Unfortunately, this means we’re sunsetting Multi.”
Embiricos said that new squad sign-ups were closed and that the app would only be available until July 24, before all user data was sent into bin.
The acquisition is said to be a small one and about five Multi workers will join OpenAI, reported by users, citing an anonymous source.
